Flame-retardant materials
Flame-retardant 3D printing materials are used wherever increased demands are placed on fire protection. Due to special material properties, they can self-extinguish after ignition, thus helping to prevent the spread of fire. At the same time, the risk of burning drops is reduced, which can prevent additional sources of fire.
Typical applications include electronics, aviation, rail transport, and industrial applications. Flame-retardant components are used for, among other things, electronics enclosures, technical components, functional prototypes, and applications where defined fire protection standards must be met.
Flame-retardant printing can be implemented using both SLA and FFF processes. Depending on the material, the materials used meet the requirements of fire protection classification UL 94 V0, making them particularly suitable for safety-critical applications with increased fire protection requirements.
