Food-compliant materials
Food-compliant 3D printing materials are suitable for applications where components are in direct or indirect contact with food. Depending on the material, the materials used meet the requirements of international guidelines, such as the FDA or EU Regulation 10/2011, thereby enabling their use in sensitive areas of the food industry.
Typical applications include food processing, packaging technology, and mechanical and plant engineering. Food-grade components are used for guides, grippers, fixtures, brackets, and technical components where hygiene, safety, and material compatibility are crucial.
Food-grade printing can be implemented with specially certified materials. Materials such as iglidur® I151 combine food conformity with high wear resistance, making them particularly suitable for long-lasting applications in hygienically sensitive areas.
