Mechanically resilient materials
Mechanically resilient 3D printing materials are suitable for applications where components are permanently exposed to high forces, loads, or friction. Depending on the material, they offer high strength, toughness, or wear resistance, thus enabling reliable use in demanding technical applications.
Typical applications include mechanical engineering, automation technology, and jig and fixture construction. Mechanically strong components are used for brackets, guides, bearings, functional components, and technical components, among other things, where a long service life and high mechanical load capacity are required.
The printing of mechanically strong components can be realized using FFF, SLA, and SLS processes. Depending on the requirements, materials such as PETG, GreenTEC Pro, Tough 2000, TA1000, PA12 Tough, or iglidur® I150 are used. Especially wear-resistant materials like iglidur® are characterized by their very good sliding properties, low material wear, and long service life.
