Silicone
It is now possible for the first time to cost-effectively produce silicone in special geometries directly via 3D printing. This process creates components with the typical properties of silicone, as known from classic industrial and medical applications.
The process is based on the SLA and FFF liquid 3D printing processes, as used by Formlabs, among others. This allows complex geometries, fine structures, and functional silicone components to be realized without molds or tools.
Printed silicone components are characterized by high elasticity, good resilience, and resistance to temperature and environmental influences. Depending on the design, they are suitable for industrial applications, the medical sector, and all areas where silicone materials are required.
Printing silicone expands the possibilities of classic silicone processing with the design freedom of additive manufacturing and enables new geometries and component concepts in 3D printing.
